Historian Arthur Herman / Charisma CEO Stephen Strang - The Tami Jackson Show
Clean

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight will be Arthur Herman.

Dr. Arthur Herman (Ph.D. Johns Hopkins, 1985) is the author of the New York Times bestseller How the Scots Invented the Modern World, which has sold a half million copies worldwide, and Gandhi and Churchill, which was a 2009 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

His six other books include To Rule the Waves: How the British Navy Shaped the Modern World, which was nominated for the UK’s prestigious Mountbatten Maritime Prize; Freedom’s Forge, named by the Economist as one of the Best Books of 2012; and Douglas MacArthur: American Warrior.

He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington, DC.

Educated at the University of Minnesota and Johns Hopkins University in history and classics, Dr. Herman is a frequent contributor on defense, energy, and technology issues to Commentary magazine, the New York Post, National Review, and the Wall Street Journal. He was also the first non-British citizen to be named to the Scottish Arts Council from 2007 to 2009.

Listen as Arthur Herman and I talk about his brand new book, 1917: Lenin, Wilson, and the Birth of the New World Disorder.

Covered in 1917:

President Woodrow Wilson’s idea to create a world “safe for democracy” ultimately failed as the world’s most powerful dictatorship rose from the ashes of World War I - the Soviet Union. While his idealism was well-intentioned it established the United States as the “world’s policeman,” paving the way for later U.S. mishaps in Vietnam and Iraq.
Simultaneous to Wilson’s moves on the world stage, Vladimir Lenin executed both his plan to reshape the world in his Marxist image and all those who opposed it. In the name of “liberating humanity,” Lenin overthrew Russia’s post-czar democratic revolution with his own murderous dictatorship.
The world Wilson and Lenin created still affects our politics and the international order we see today. Without Wilson’s League of Nations, we would not have the supranational United Nations we know today nor would we have Moscow and Beijing as the epicenters of power in the East. It is these men that have set the stage for the international adversaries that dominate foreign policy a century later.
Nicholas Reynolds, author of Writer, Sailor, Soldier, Spy: Ernest Hemingway’s Secret Adventures, 1935-1961, notes:

Arthur Herman’s parallel biography of Lenin and Wilson will make the reader stop and think — about the great man theory of history and the cataclysmic events of 1917. Analyzing their legacies, Herman issues a clarion call for us to cast a wary eye on ideologues who want to remake the world, in 2017 as in 1917.

This will be fascinating as Arthur and I talk history and philosophy -- Wilson was a prominent Progressive (Socialist) and it's critical that Americans to understand the roots of Socialism, Marxism, and Progressivism, and the role they played in WWI.

In the second 1/2 hour my guest will be Stephen Strang.

Stephen E. Strang is an award-winning journalist and successful businessman who began his career as a newspaper reporter at the Orlando Sentinel before founding a Christian publishing house and media company.

Strang has interviewed and written about nearly every Christian leader in the country over the past four decades.

He is author of the book, God and Donald Trump. He joined other Christian leaders who campaigned for Trump's election.

As written in the front cover:

Donald Trump is an enigma, a brash self-promoter, casino owner, and a man of the world. Yet he is also a devoted husband and father who has surrounded himself with men and women of faith and has made religion a key component of his image.

God and Donald Trump is a powerful first-person account of one of the most contentious elections in American history, with exclusive interviews and insightful commentary from the men and women who were there.

Strang remarks:

Most evangelical Christians did not support Donald Trump when he announced he was running for President in 2015. Why should they have? He had made a fortune in gambling.

He was thrice married, and he was known to use some pretty salty language at times—hardly the model politician the religious right could enthusiastically support.

As it turned out, however, most evangelicals did get behind him in the 2016 election, giving Trump 82 percent of the evangelical vote—reportedly the highest percentage ever. Since then his support from the Christian community has remained steady.

Stephen Strang is CEO of Charisma Media and founder of Charisma magazine. Charisma Media also publishes Ministry Today, the Spanish magazine Vida Cristiana and Christian Retailing.

Steve and I will discuss Donald Trump and HOW he won 82% of the evangelical vote and what role faith now plays in his administration.

You haven't lived until you've heard Kurt expound on all things liberal -- he has the knowledge, the humor, and the spine one would expect from an Army Colonel, to speak up and say the things that too many mealy-mouthed pundits won't.

In the second 1/2 hour my guest will be Robert Alt.

Robert Alt is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Buckeye Institute, where he also serves on the Board of Trustees.

Alt’s leadership has been the catalyst for The Buckeye Institute’s exponential growth since he took the organization’s helm in 2012. He has since founded The Buckeye Institute’s esteemed Economic Research Center and Legal Center, from which the Buckeye team not only imagines public policy victories but compels them with sound data, objective research, and strategic litigation.

Alt is a nationally recognized scholar with expertise in legal policy including criminal justice, national security, and constitutional law. Prior to heading The Buckeye Institute, Alt was a Director in the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies serving under former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III at The Heritage Foundation, where he regularly advised Members of Congress and Supreme Court litigants on complex legal arguments and strategy.

Alt is a frequent speaker at dozens of universities and law schools across the country, and his writings have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, New York Post, U.S. News & World Report, The San Diego Union-Tribune, and SCOTUSblog. Circuits, a member of the Mont Pelerin Society, the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society, and a former Fellow in the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence at the Claremont Institute where he was also a Publius Fellow in 1998.

Alt earned his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, where he was Symposium Editor and the winner of the Mulroy Prize for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy as well as Research Assistant to renowned law professor Richard Epstein. Following law school, he clerked for Judge Alice Batchelder on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Alt graduated with his B.A. in political science and philosophy magna cum laude from Azusa Pacific University where he won the Outstanding Senior Award in Political Science.

Robert and I will discuss his informative article, It's Time For Public Sector Workers To Be Given A Voice And Choice.

As written in the article:

Every morning, hardworking men and women in every state drink their coffee and diligently go to work on our behalf—in our neighborhoods as public school teachers, home care workers, engineers, and in agencies protecting the environment. Unfortunately, while these civic-minded professionals go to work for us, the labor unions that they must join in order to teach our children or serve our communities do not always work for them.

Once a public-sector union is certified, it remains the workers’ representative—potentially forever. In Ohio, for example, the Columbus Education Association has represented Columbus public school teachers since 1968—back when the Beatles were still together and before many of today’s teachers were even born.

Heirloom unions inherited from the Nixon-era are depriving today’s public workers and civil servants of any meaningful voice or choice in their workplace. Ninety-four percent of union workers have never had the chance to vote for or against their unions

Former Mafia Boss Michael Franzese / Patrick Van Horne - Tami Jackson Show

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight will be Michael Franzese.

Michael Franzese grew up as the son of the notorious Underboss of New York’s violent and feared Colombo crime family. At his most affluent, he generated an estimated $5 to $8 million per week from legal and illegal businesses. It was a life filled with power, luxury…and deadly violence.

In 1986, mafia boss, Michael Franzese was named one of the biggest money earners the mob had seen since Al Capone, by Vanity Fair.

At the age of 35, Fortune Magazine listed him as number 18 on its list of the “Fifty Most Wealthy and Powerful Mafia Bosses”, just 5 behind John Gotti. Avoiding traditional mob domains, Michael masterminded brilliant scams on the edge of the legitimate business world.

From auto dealerships and union kickbacks, to financial services and the sports and entertainment industries, to a multi-billion dollar gasoline tax scheme, he earned millions in cash every week at his peak.

Not surprisingly, Michael quickly became the target of Manhattan’s famed federal prosecutor, Rudy Giuliani. After promising Michael 100 years behind bars after indicting him on racketeering charges, Rudy only came up empty handed. Escaping four more indictments, it seemed Michael Franzese truly was invincible.

While producing Knights of the City, a break dance movie filmed in Florida, Michael met a beautiful dancer from Anaheim, California, named Camille Garcia, whose innocent beauty and faith turned his world upside down.

After falling in love and eventually marrying Cammy, Michael took the rap on racketeering charges. He pled guilty, accepted a 10-year prison sentence and vowed to do the unthinkable – walk away from the mob. Nobody of his rank had ever just walked away – and lived. Until now.

Michael is currently starring in Kevin and Sam Sorbo's terrific new movie, Let There Be Light. -- he plays Pastor Vinny.

Listen in as Michael recounts his past as a "made man" and his encounter with the amazing grace that set him free, his part in Let There Be Light and his ministry.

My second guest tonight will be Patrick Van Horne.

Patrick Van Horne, a former USMC Captain, is the founder and CEO of The CP Journal, a behavioral analysis training company. His firm provides training support to the U.S. military, federal and local law enforcement agencies and the private security industry.

He served in the Marine Corps for seven years as an infantry officer, earning the rank of Captain following his two deployments to Iraq.

In addition to serving as a platoon commander, company executive officer and company commander, Patrick served as the officer-in-charge of a training team in the Combat Hunter program.

Following his service, he returned to the private sector, founded the company and co-authored Left of Bang.

I am convinced that, not just Marines or operatives, but every American should read this book.

With the recent church shooting in Texas, with the threat of Islamic terrorism now in country, Americans face danger, and not just down range.

Left of Bang is the ultimate guide to situational awareness tactics.

What does "Left of Bang" mean? You'll have to listen and find out!

His company's training focuses on teaching people how to prevent violent attacks from occurring and finding attackers in plain sight.

This is not miss radio that has application for each of us in modern day America!

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight will be Ryan Mauro.

Ryan Mauro is Clarion Project’s Shillman Fellow and National Security Analyst. A professor of homeland security, counter-terrorism and political science, he consults to government agencies, and policy-makers.

The Clarion Project draws together Middle East experts, scholars, human rights activists and Muslims to promote tolerance and moderation and challenge extremism.

Mauro formerly served as an intelligence analyst for Tactical Defense Concepts, a maritime-related security group.

Mauro has made over 1,000 appearances on international radio and TV programs from both the left and the right, including frequent segments on FOX News Channel, Al-Hurra, CCTV, Voice of America, Wall Street Journal Live, etc. He’s been widely published and quoted in outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Hill, Roll Call and the Daily Caller.

He was originally hired as an international security analyst at age 16 for a maritime protection company. His research led to two speaking engagements at the International Intelligence Summit, billed as the most prestigious conference of its kind. The event’s material, including Mauro’s bio, was found inside Osama Bin Laden’s Pakistan compound.

In 2012, his work caught the attention of the Muslim Brotherhood, which lashed out at him as “delusional” on its official English-language Twitter account.

Ryan and I will discuss his article published at Clarion, "Trump’s U.N. Speech: 10 Important Moments," and breakdown President Trumps U.N. speech, why it was so important.

Listeners to this show will remember Ryan from guest appearances in 2014, and appreciate his depth of knowledge on the Middle East, foreign policy, and the threat of radical Islam.

In the first 1/2 hour I will be speaking with Retired Marine Officer Freddie Blish.

USMC LtCol (Ret) Freddie Blish joined the Marine Corps on 25 Feb 1983.

Blish served in the 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Marine Corps Security Force Company Panama (Operation Promote Liberty), 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division (JTF-6 Counter Drug), Marine Forces Pacific/Korea/Central Command (Operation Desert Thunder), Headquarters Marine Corps, and MWSG-37 3rd MAW (Operation Iraqi Freedom I & II).

Freddie is the President/Owner of Robar Companies, Inc.® and instructor at Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper's Gunsite Academy.

Freddie and I will talk about ROBAR Companies commemorative RC-50, which debuts on or about this Friday -- Veteran's Day!

Some info you'll want to know:

The RC-50 features a precision CNC-machined customized bolt-action system of operation and feeds from a 5-round detachable magazine inserted into the underside of the receiver in the usual way. The gun weighs a hefty-yet-manageable 25lbs and sports an overall length of 36 inches with a barrel measuring some 29 inches long (a 24-inch barrel is also available).

Like others in its field the RC-50 is chambered to fire the massive and powerful .50 BMG which gives it good penetration against light armor and fortified structures. Such weapons are useful in disabling armored vehicles by targeting specific components in their design – sensors, track links, driver positions, etc….

Effective range of the RC-50 system reaches out to 2,000 meters and sighting is primarily through a 16X telescopic scope. The receiver is designed to accept a plethora of after-market scope types to suit mission and operator requirements.

All you firearms aficionados out there, get a front row seat and pay attention -- this rifle is something special and will be a very, desirable addition to anyone's long gun collection.

************************

In the second 1/2 hour I will be talking to Raheel Raza.

Raheel Raza is a member of the Clarion Project Advisory Board. She is president of The Council for Muslims Facing Tomorrow, a founding member of The Muslim Reform Movement, author of the book Their Jihad – Not My Jihad, award winning journalist, public speaker, and advocate for human rights.

Raheel speaks at places of worship, the private sector, school boards and government institutions. She has been invited to the Parliaments of Sweden, UK, Israel and to Capitol Hill in Washington DC.

In her pursuit for human rights, Raheel is accredited with United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva through The Centre for Inquiry (CFI). She has received many awards for her work on women’s equality including the City of Toronto’s Constance Hamilton award.

Raheel is the voice of Clarion’s short film "By The Numbers" and stars in "Honor Diaries."

Raheel and I will talk about her article, ISIS Halloween Terror – Ordered Last Thanksgiving?

As she writes at The Daily Caller:

Once again evil has struck New York City. ISIS terrorist Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov used a rented truck to run down and kill 8 innocent people and injure at least a dozen more. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and those injured.

But we cannot say we did not see this coming.

Last year, ISIS urged its followers in the West to use rented trucks to murder innocent people in New York, singling out the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as an “an excellent target.”

Less than a year later, a terrorist rented a truck and murdered people in the name of ISIS, mere steps from the World Trade Center.

The terrorist shouted “Allahu Akbar,” announcing to all who would listen the reason for his cowardly terrorist attack. He did it in the name of Jihad. He did it in the name of ISIS. He did it in the name of my religion. He is a soldier in the ongoing “war on the West” declared by radical Islamists.

But he is not a “lone wolf,” as many in the media have described him. There is no such thing as a “lone wolf.” He did not sit alone in the woods and then – one day, out of the blue – come up with the idea of renting a truck and running down innocent people while shouting “Allahu Akbar.” That was an instruction given by ISIS last year.

You won't want to miss this interesting conversation with Raheel -- she knows what she's talking about when it comes to radical Islamic Terrorism and we would do well to listen intently!

Author Rich Botkin / Doug Ibendahl - The Tami Jackson Show

Another Tuesday night and you know that means great guests on the Tami Jackson Show*!

In the first 1/2 hour I will be speaking with Rich Botkin.

Rich, a retired Marine officer, served four years active, eleven in the reserves. Botkin is the author of Ride the Thunder: A Vietnam War Story of Honor and Triumph, a magnificent work of military history centered on the Easter offensive and the American and Vietnamese Marines.

The tome highlights many brave men, including: Col G.H. “Gerry” Turley, Col John Ripley (“Skipper”), and Maj Le Ba Binh, who fought in a war demonized and undermined by the Mainstream Media and The Left.

Ride the Thunder tells the story of American Marines, Covan, and the TQLC, a story not well-known by so many Americans.

Ride the Thunder is the result of 5 years of writing and 4 trips to Vietnam, and was made into a motion picture in March of 2015.

Rich and I will talk about his new article, Will Ken Burns' Twisted Version of Vietnam War Endure?

The article begins:

“No event in American history is more misunderstood than the Vietnam War. It was misreported then, and it is misremembered now.” Richard Nixon’s 1994 post-war observation remains as prescient as ever. With the release of the Ken Burns/Lynne Novick epic 10-part PBS documentary on the war last month, it is safe to say that the misreporting and misremembering have only been compounded and exacerbated.

Sadly, the American taxpayers have funded this new Burns/Novick series which only continues The Left's narrative of the Vietnam War.

Listen as Rich and I debunk what Ken Burns and Lynne Novick assert.

Botkin writes in his article:

If nothing else, the release of the Burns/Novick work has ignited a firestorm of passionate response from those men who honorably served. And it was their stories, including those of our South Vietnamese allies, that went largely untold in 18 long, tortuous hours.

Our hope is that perhaps a backlash will occur, that thousands will obtain copies of the Ride the Thunder movie, now available in DVD and Blu-Ray, and that the light of truth will reveal the Burns series to be a terrible misrepresentation of the war and those who honorably served.

In the second 1/2 hour I will be talking to Doug Ibendahl.

Doug Ibendahl is a Chicago attorney and former General Counsel of the Illinois Republican Party. In 2000, he was named Illinois Coordinator for Young Professionals for George W. Bush (YP4W), a national volunteer coalition of the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign. Doug also served on the Bush-Cheney legal team in Florida during the 2000 Presidential recount.

Before starting his own law and consulting practice, Doug was an attorney with one of the world’s largest law firms, Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago. His practice concentrated in the firm’s corporate, finance and government groups, and included Fortune 500 corporate clients, as well as governmental entities.

Ibendahl is the Co-Founder of Republican Young Professionals (RYP), an all volunteer grassroots organization dedicated to introducing younger people to political and community involvement. He has worked on numerous political and legislative campaigns.

Doug is a widely read political commentator and Editor-in-Chief of RepublicanNewsWatch.com. From 2008 to 2010 he also co-hosted a popular Sunday morning political talk show on AM 560-WIND.

Doug and I will be talking about President Donald Trump, his successes, his adversaries, and the controversy over Trump's condolence call to Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, one of the soldiers killed in the ambush in Niger.

Ibendahl was an early Trump supporter and predicted he would win. Now we'll hear how he thinks the president is measuring up.

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight will be Jeff Dunetz.

The conservative voice from the People’s Republic of New York, Jeff Dunetz is a bit of a fish out of water: a New Yorker, a Jew, and a conservative.

Jeff often mixes a dash of shpiel political theory, religion, and New York attitude in his political news and commentary which can be found at at his own sites, Lid Blog  and Lid's Vids , at MRCTV.org, and at his weekly political column in The Jewish Star.

Dunetz also hosts his own show, The Lid, every Wednesday at 2PM ET on SHR Media.

Jeff is hands down not only a seasoned political commentator, but truly one of the most knowledgeable writers concerning Israeli/American relations. And as most of my listeners have discovered, Jeff Dunetz is one very funny guy.

Listen in as Jeff and I discuss his latest columns: "Active Army Officer Claims A Number Of Them Are Teaching At West Point," "Bombshell Report Proves Collusion (This is Not The Russian Collusion You Were Looking For)," and of course about the Iran Deal.

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight will be Eric Holmberg.

Eric Holmberg is a Christian Apologist, Filmmaker, Writer, Reformer and Counter-insurgent.

Eric is a contributor at BarbWire.com and long-time cultural commentator, and his writing and projects can be found at his website, The Apologetics Group.

Holmberg, as a filmmaker, often reviews movies and television programs, enlightening the viewer of underlying themes intended to implicitly or explicitly impact the audience's worldview.

Eric, as an apologist, is a critical thinker with a passion for the arts, particularly broadcast/film media.

He recently shed some much needed light on a new television series debuting on Netflix, Big Mouth, in his article, "Big Mouth Debut: How Low will Our Culture Go? Will You Be Tacitly Supporting It?"

Holberg writes:

Last Friday night, Netflix began streaming the first season—ten episodes—of Big Mouth, a half-hour, animated “edgy comedy” (their words) that invites the viewer to “relive puberty from the safety of their sofa.” And mainstream critics so far have been unanimous in their praise of the series, garnering the show a coveted 100% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The twelve reviews posted so far shine a bright light on the worldview that animates much of the modern media industry as well as the broader culture that feeds from its trough. Each of them acknowledge the “really, really gross,” “explicit,” “filthy,” “lewd,” “bawdy,” “disgusting” manner in which the show treats adolescents’ “vigorous pursuit of carnal pleasure.” But it’s all fine because Big Mouth supposedly has a big heart as well.

I've always appreciated Eric's commentary and critiques, and his latest should be read by parents everywhere. In an age where the radical elements of our culture woos children with stunning visuals and media devoid of all morals, everyone must be vigilant to safeguard kids' innocence.

Listen as Eric and I discuss Big Mouth and culture, films and music.
