Is It Wrong To Support #FireColbert? Gang Of 405 5/6
Clean

Stephen Colbert said Donald Trump's mouth was Vladimir Putin's c*ock holster. Many people think that crosses a line and should cost him his job. Others like Sean Hannity don't support a campaign to get him fired. Of course, this hits close to home, since it just happened to Bill O'Reilly and the left is doing the same thing to Hannity. Apparently he thinks he can make this go away if our side just unilaterally disarms. Does that really work?

At the end of the day, does the Freedom Caucus deserve its bad rap? The group of conservatives in congress killed the first attempt at repealing Obamacare and was savaged - by the right. But now it's said they made it possible for the bill to pass this week and worked with President Trump better than Paul Ryan.

In a twist on the right's relationship with late night hosts, Sean Spicer says President Trump supports the goals of Jimmy Kimmel, who used a recent monolog to take a dig at Trump's effort to repeal and replace Obamacare. How's that for something completely different?

Phil Kerpen / ADF Kellie Fiedorek - Tami Jackson Show - 5/2
Clean
May 02, 2017 07:27 PM PDT
itunes pic

In the first 1/2 hour I will be talking to Phil Kerpen.

Phil Kerpen 2Phil Kerpen is president of American Commitment, a nationally syndicated columnist, chairman of the Internet Freedom Coalition, and author of Democracy Denied.

Prior to joining American Commitment, Kerpen served as vice president for policy at Americans for Prosperity.

He has also worked as an analyst and researcher for the Free Enterprise Fund, the Club for Growth, and the Cato Institute.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kerpen resides in Washington, D.C., with his wife Joanna and their three children.

Phil and I will be chatting about “Net Neutrality” and why it should be ended.

Phil Kerpen argues that Obama’s Washington’s takeover of the Internet—a disaster for free speech, commerce, and the future of the Internet as a sphere of innovation—should be reversed.

For over a decade, professional liberal organizers and agitators—backed by a tidal wave of big liberal foundations and Silicon Valley corporate money—have told a bizarre scare story that without heavy-handed government regulation, Internet service providers (ISPs) will start blocking what websites you can go to and impeding free speech on the Internet.

No such thing happened in the approximately two decades that ISPs were unregulated “information services” under the 1996 Telecom Act. Indeed the opposite occurred as robust competition between phone and cable companies—and later wireless companies—drove speeds dramatically higher and consumers benefited from an Internet that innovated beyond our wildest dreams.

Listen in as Phil and I discuss the internet and free speech in the era of President Trump, and his article, "The Net Neutrality Noise Machine."

*******************************

In the second 1/2 hour I will be joined by Kellie Fiedorek.

Kellie Fiedorek serves as legal counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, where she is a member of the Alliance Advancement Team.

Since joining ADF in 2012, Fiedorek has defended religious liberty, marriage, and the family against legal attacks. She has authored federal and state legislation, and advised members of Congress, governors, state attorneys general, state legislators, and policy organizations on how to preserve First Amendment freedoms.

Fiedorek has testified before state legislatures across the country on the importance of safeguarding religious liberty, free speech, the sanctity of life, and the right to privacy. She has also litigated cases defending the constitutionally protected freedom of citizens to live and work according to their conscience. Her appellate advocacy practice has included authoring and coordinating amicus briefs for pivotal U.S. Supreme Court, federal court, and state court appellate cases.

Fiedorek earned her Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law in 2009. Before graduating from law school, she completed the Alliance Defending Freedom leadership development program to become a Blackstone Fellow in 2008. She is a member of the state bar of Florida, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Supreme Court, and multiple federal appellate courts.

Kellie and I will have a conversation about:

Most Americans, including nearly 25% of those identifying as Democrat, favor common sense restrictions on Abortions.
DNC Chairman Tom Perez's comments on Friday are out of step with most American’s views on the sanctity of life.
The evidence is indisputable that a pre-born child is a human being. To those who pretend there’s still doubt: why do you err on the side of death?
Every innocent life deserves to be protected.
Pro-Choice is anti-woman. Abortion is not a one-time event; women have testified and research shows that it is an ongoing, painful struggle.
Close ties between the DNC and the abortion industry should concern women.
If you think the tobacco industry has glamorized dangerous behavior that leads to disease and death and is only concerned with profit, take a look at the abortion industry. Just as Americans don’t want taxpayer money going to Big Tobacco, every American should be outraged that Big Abortion has received billions in public funds from politicians aligned with the DNC and its chairman.

Fox News thinks it can make all its problems go away by hiring a female CEO. Sean Hannity is fighting to keep his one time producer now co-President Bill Shine, but the Murdoch boys are "quietly" looking for his female replacement. Who would last in that job and what do the Murdochs want out of it? Public floggings of male employees? Fox is under attack because it's a successful conservative outlet - for now. Last week the left was after Hannity and Jesse Watters to quit. Does a female CEO make that go away?

Our grades for the first 100 days - for the media that is. Hundreds of millions are spent to trash Trump politically. A fraction of that is spent to attack the media, but Trump still beats the media. What's the sense of the media Agonizing over Trump's approval ratings when theirs are worse?

A 25-year old and Ja Rule concocted a destination music festival - in the Bahamas - for millionaires to mingle with girls in bikinis and top musical acts. It's called Fyre Festival. What could go wrong? Everything went wrong. Instead of gourmet meals the guests were given cheese sandwiches and instead of top accommodations they spent their nights in tent cities on the beach. The organizers say they learned their lesson and will be better prepared "next year." Oh yeah?

Journalist Stuart Taylor, Jr. / Talk Show Host Jeff Crouere - Tami Jackson Show 4/26

Stuart Taylor, Jr. is one of our nation’s most highly respected legal journalists, a lawyer, and co-author of The Campus Rape Frenzy. He has for 35 years written about a wide range of legal and political issues for the New York Times, National Journal, American Lawyer Media, Newsweek, and many other prominent outlets.

Taylor is a frequent media guest who has appeared on hundreds of television and radio programs nationwide. He also taught at Stanford Law School in 2011 and 2012. Taylor received his B.A. from Princeton and graduated at the top of his class at Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Stuart is co-author with KC Johnson of the new book, The Campus Rape Frenzy: The Attack on Due Process at America’s Universities.

As written at the book page at Amazon:

This book uses hard facts to set the record straight. It explores, among other things, about two dozen of the many cases since 2010 in which innocent or probably innocent students have been branded as sex criminals and expelled or otherwise punished by their colleges.

And it shows why all students—and, eventually, society as a whole—are harmed when our nation’s universities abandon pursuit of truth and seek instead to accommodate the passions of the mob.

Listen as Stuart Taylor and I have a conversation about the proliferation of college rape accusations and cases -- many of which seem to lack all credulity.

Every two months, Crouere hosts a local version of “Politically Incorrect” at the Eiffel Society in New Orleans called Politics with a Punch which includes a panel of comedians, politicians, media personalities, and newsmakers.

He has held many leadership positions in the Louisiana Republican Party, including Deputy Chairman and Executive Director. In March of 2009, he founded the Northshore Tea Party, which has sponsored over a dozen popular citizen rallies attracting presidential candidates like Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum as well as over 10,000 attendees.

Media elites on the right are at it again. They're cheering the demise of Bill O'Reilly? Conservative media elites never liked him, so they gladly handed him over to his attackers. His crime? He connected with flyover country like their pointy-headed purity polishing never could, so they say, "Good riddance." He won't be the last to be attacked. Who's next, and will the right wing gentry cut and run again?

Is safety vs. free speech a false alternative? When campuses uninvite conservative speakers, they reason they always give is that they can't guarantee security. In Oakland, persons engaging in assault are often college faculty and staff. Even the Mayor of Oakland is affiliated with an Antifa splinter group called BAMN, The Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration & Immigrant Rights, and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary. It's an anti-Trump group and the Mayor, who is charged with keeping order, is part of it.

Are you starting to think Starbucks creates ill will on social media knowing they win in the end? This week they introduced a short-run Unicorn Frappuccino. It's coloring is, well, gay. Taste testers say it reminds them of stale cake and even some baristas are publicly complaining. The good news is, the drink is only being served through Sunday. What did they hope to accomplish with such kamikaze branding?

Capt. Roger Hill / Christiana Holcomb, Esq. - The Tami Jackson Show 4/18
Clean
April 18, 2017 07:49 PM PDT

My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight be Captain Roger Hill.

Captain Roger Hill is a West Point graduate, combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient who had dreamed of being a soldier since he was six years old. In 2007, Hill takes command of Dog Company, an 89-man unit of the famed 101st Airborne. The unit is full of rough-and-tumble men who are brilliant in combat but undisciplined at home. Through tough love, Hill and his First Sergeant, an old-school former drill instructor named Tommy Scott, turn the company into the top performers in the battalion.

In 2008, Hill and Scott lead Dog Company into combat in Wardak, the most violent province in eastern Afghanistan. For six months, the unit faces off against the Taliban. They survive ambushes, rocket fire and IEDs almost daily, and the number of wounded cuts into Hill’s unit by a third. Meanwhile, Hill himself battles his own battalion commander, a charismatic but archly political man who threatens to relieve Hill at every turn.

After two Dog Company soldiers die in combat, Hill, Scott and a counterintelligence team learn the reason for the mounting casualties: A dozen Taliban spies posing as local national workers have infiltrated their base. After he captures the spies, Hill is abandoned by his higher command, setting off a ticking clock: he has just 96 hours to either release the spies and expose Dog Company to further casualties — or defy the Army’s rules on prisoner treatment.

In a true story that weaves the combat action of Band of Brothers with the military courtroom drama of A Few Good Men, Hill and Scott must ultimately choose: Sacrifice their careers or sacrifice their men.

Capt. Hill and Lynn Vincent detail the true story in a new book, sure to be a best seller, Dog Company: A True Story of American Soldiers Abandoned by Their High Command.

Listen as Capt. Hill and I discuss how current Rules of Engagement (ROE) are politically motivated and represent a grave danger to troops on the ground. This segment is guaranteed to make every patriot steaming mad!

*******************

In the second 1/2 hour I will be joined by Christiana Holcomb.

Christiana Holcomb, Esq., serves as legal counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, where she is an invaluable member of the Center for Christian Ministries.

Since joining ADF in 2012, Holcomb has worked to protect the freedom of churches, Christian schools, and Christian ministries to freely exercise their faith without government interference.

She also advocates for these issues as an Alliance Defending Freedom Regional Legal Academy faculty member and as a conference speaker throughout the country.

Holcomb earned her J.D. at Oak Brook College, graduating summa cum laude in 2010. She also completed the Alliance Defending Freedom leadership development program to become a Blackstone Fellow in 2010. She is admitted to the bar in California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Christiana will be Erik Stanley's Deputy on the “The Playground Case,” the biggest case left on the SCOTUS docket, which will be heard on Wednesday, April 19.

Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbia, Inc. v. Pauley, dubbed “The Playground Case.” ABC called it “the most anticipated case in the April sitting.” Fox further described it as “arguably the biggest church-state case in recent memory.”

Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbia, Inc. v. Pauley involves a Lutheran preschool in Columbia, Missouri that was denied state funds to improve its public playground due to a law prohibiting government aid to religious schools.

This case needs to be watched particularly closely because it will be the barometer for years worth of rulings striking at the heart of America's culture and political war. In fact, on Monday, April 17, just two days before "The Playground Case," the Supreme Court "DISTRIBUTED for Conference" the extremely controversial Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission for possible hearing later this fall.

Behind the case representing Trinity Lutheran (and Masterpiece Cakeshop) is Erik Stanley of Alliance Defending Freedom.

This will be such a timely discussion: Eric Stanley, Christiana Holcomb, and the rest of the ADF legal team have been working tirelessly on this case, scheduled on the SCOTUS docket for tomorrow morning, Wednesday, April 19. And now that the High Court is at full complement with newly sworn in Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch, Americans will eagerly await the court's opinion.

Follow Capt. Roger Hill on Twitter at @CPTRogerHill, Dog Company Book at @DogCompanyBook, Christiana Holcomb at @ChristianaADF, and me at @tamij AND tweet your questions/comments during the show using hashtag #tjrs.

What Happened To Following Police Orders...On An Airplane? 4/15

Washingtonians have a stick up their a** about airlines. They act like they never get the respect they deserve on their flights over flyover country. So it's not surprising when Dr. David Dao refused to peacefully leave a United flight in Chicago, DC conservative pundits were quick to find all fault with the airline. Three others left the plane when asked. Dao made a scene. Can you think of other cases where the right sides with the guy resisting arrest? Of course, Dao will make out on his court settlement. Any DC conservatives still want to argue tort reform? Are the cops and the airline entirely to blame here?

Donald Trump is getting noise from some on the right about his immigration policy. In fairness, DACA was not ended as Trump campaigned it would be. But Attorney General Jeff Sessions is quietly assembling nothing short of a deportation force. The left is mortified. Is the right justified in attacking Trump's immigration policy?

A little navel gazing here. Who are we and why are we here? In other words, are podcasters and thought writers expecting too much when they desire to change the world or even the country? It's a segment about a 405 Media partner who stopped doing his podcast recently and expressed his frustrations
